Role Overview: Primary English Teacher
As a Primary English Teacher, you will play a vital role in developing students’ literacy and communication skills. You will design engaging lessons that foster reading comprehension, creative writing, grammar, and vocabulary development. You will also contribute to whole-school literacy initiatives and work closely with parents, support staff, and specialists to support each child’s progress.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the Australian curriculum
- Support students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening development
- Use formative and summative assessments to track progress
- Integrate cross-curricular themes and support arts-based learning
- Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to ensure student success
- Participate in professional learning and school events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience teaching primary English
- Familiarity with the Australian or UK curriculum
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
- A proactive, independent approach to curriculum enrichment
