Role Overview

The Primary/EYC Assistant Teacher will play a key role in supporting classroom teachers, ensuring students receive the attention and care they need to thrive. The successful candidate will:

• Assist in implementing engaging and age-appropriate lessons under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
• Support children in developing social, emotional, and academic skills.
• Provide targeted support to individual students and small groups.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Participate in professional development activities and contribute to the wider school community.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
• A valid teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE) is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in an assistant teaching role within early years or primary settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A proactive and supportive attitude toward inclusive education.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
