Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the crucial role of Primary Homeroom Teacher (teaching a single class, typically Grades 1-6 equivalent/Key Stages 1 or 2). This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard lessons across all core primary subjects.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous lessons across all core subjects in the Primary homeroom setting. Align instruction with the British National Curriculum standards (KS1 or KS2).
• Develop and execute strategies that promote critical thinking, collaborative learning, and the application of core skills across subject areas.
• Assess student performance and progress consistently using formative and summative methods. Provide constructive, detailed feedback and progress reports to students and parents/guardians.
• Maintain a safe, highly organized, and positive classroom environment conducive to active learning and intellectual growth.
• Collaborate effectively with specialist teachers, grade-level colleagues, and primary leadership to ensure curriculum consistency and support student welfare.
• Implement effective and diverse classroom management and motivational techniques suitable for the primary age group, emphasizing cooperative learning.
• Actively participate in professional development sessions and proactively contribute to curriculum enrichment and wider school initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, communicating clearly about curriculum goals and student success.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Primary Education, Elementary Education, or a closely related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification, preferably Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or equivalent certification specifically for Primary teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Primary Homeroom Teacher, ideally within an international school setting using the British curriculum.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of the British Primary Curriculum (KS1/KS2) and associated assessment methods.
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Proactive Approach: Be independent, self-motivated, and willing to proactively enrich the curriculum and contribute to school life.
