Role Overview: Primary Homeroom Teacher
As a Primary Homeroom Teacher, you will play a central role in shaping the academic and personal growth of young students. You will lead a classroom environment that supports inquiry, independence, and creativity, while aligning with international educational frameworks such as the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) or similar models.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across core subject areas
- Foster a safe and supportive classroom culture
- Implement inquiry-based learning strategies to promote student exploration
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to plan interdisciplinary units
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress
- Use assessment data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes
- Participate in school-wide events and community-building activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of classroom teaching experience, preferably in an international or bilingual school setting
- Strong understanding of international curricula (e.g., IB PYP, IPC)
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Passion for working with young learners and commitment to continuous professional development
- Ability to integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning
