Role Overview
As a Primary Maths Teacher at YMCA Christian Academy, you will design and deliver engaging mathematics lessons that build strong numeracy foundations and encourage critical thinking. You will inspire confidence in problem-solving, nurture curiosity, and equip students with the skills to apply mathematics to real-life contexts. This role also offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and contribute to the school’s wider academic and co-curricular programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive maths lessons.
- Develop creative strategies to support diverse learning styles.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Integrate project-based and experiential learning into teaching.
- Support extracurricular activities and service-learning initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the maths curriculum.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- At least 3 years of teaching experience in maths or a related subject.
- Familiarity with international curricula and inquiry-based approaches.
- Strong subject knowledge in mathematics and numeracy development.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Enthusiasm for working in a diverse Christian international school community.
