Role Overview: Primary Music Teacher
As the Primary Music Teacher, you will introduce students to the fundamentals of music theory, performance, rhythm, and appreciation. You will help young learners explore musical expression while fostering confidence, collaboration, and a lifelong love of music.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate music lessons to primary students
- Teach music theory, instruments, vocal skills, and musical appreciation
- Organize school concerts, performances, and extracurricular music activities
- Create a classroom environment that encourages creativity and self-expression
- Work closely with colleagues to integrate music into cross-curricular learning
- Monitor and assess student progress and adapt instruction to support growth
- Use digital tools to enhance music instruction and student engagement
- Participate actively in school events, clubs, and community activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience teaching music at the primary level
- Familiarity with British or international curricula preferred
- Strong performance skills and experience leading student ensembles or choirs
- Excellent communication and classroom management abilities
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Passionate about teaching music in an international, bilingual school setting
