Role Overview
As a Primary Music Teacher at YMCA Christian Academy, you will foster students’ creativity, confidence, and appreciation for music. You will design engaging lessons that develop core musical skills such as rhythm, melody, harmony, and performance. Beyond classroom teaching, you will contribute to school events, concerts, and productions, encouraging students to showcase their talents.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with international best practices.
- Introduce students to a range of musical genres, instruments, and performance opportunities.
- Foster creativity, collaboration, and confidence through music.
- Organize and lead student performances, assemblies, and special events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music into cross-curricular projects.
- Support the wider school community by participating in extracurricular activities and service-learning initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in music or performing arts.
- Familiarity with international curricula and inquiry-based teaching.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Enthusiasm for working in a diverse international and Christian school community.
- Ability to use technology to enhance music instruction and student learning.
