Role Overview: Primary Music Teacher
The Primary Music Teacher will lead the delivery of a creative and engaging music curriculum that builds students’ musical abilities and appreciation from an early age. The teacher will plan and implement interactive lessons that integrate singing, rhythm, movement, and performance. The role includes preparing students for school events, concerts, and cross-curricular projects involving the arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a well-rounded music education to primary students
- Foster musical expression through singing, instruments, and movement
- Create lesson plans aligned with IPC learning goals
- Collaborate with teachers for interdisciplinary units and performances
- Use formative and summative assessments to track student progress
- Lead school-wide musical performances and celebrations
- Use educational technology to enhance classroom engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field
- Teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience teaching music in primary years
- Strong knowledge of international curricula such as IPC
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Creative, enthusiastic, and committed to holistic education
- High proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Collaborative and proactive in developing school-wide music initiatives
