Role Overview: Primary Music Teacher

As a Primary Music Teacher, you will deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned music instruction that supports students’ artistic growth and cognitive development. Your role will include designing creative lessons, preparing students for performances, and integrating music with interdisciplinary learning themes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver music lessons to primary students across a range of skill levels
• Teach foundational music theory, vocal technique, and instrument use
• Encourage musical expression through individual and group performances
• Plan and lead school concerts, assemblies, and special events
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music into broader curricular themes
• Use formative assessments to track student progress and refine instruction
• Promote an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment where students feel confident exploring their creativity
• Engage in regular communication with parents and colleagues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field
• Valid teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• At least 2 years of experience teaching primary-level music
• Familiarity with international curricula (IB PYP, Cambridge, IPC)
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Proficiency in vocal and/or instrumental instruction
• Strong commitment to ongoing professional learning and innovation in music education
• High proficiency in written and spoken English
