Role Overview: Primary Teacher
As a Primary Teacher at MIS, you will lead a classroom of young learners, fostering academic achievement, creativity, and emotional development. You will develop and deliver lessons aligned with the Victorian curriculum while supporting individual student needs. Collaboration with other staff and specialists is essential in maintaining our inclusive, student-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons for primary students
- Integrate creative arts into core academic instruction
- Track student progress and tailor instruction to diverse learning profiles
- Partner with therapists, teaching assistants, and parents to support student success
- Contribute to curriculum development and school initiatives
- Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or Australian equivalent)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in a primary setting
- Familiarity with Australian or UK curricula
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Strong commitment to professional development
- Fluent in spoken and written English
