The British International School of Stockholm (BISS) is an international school for students aged 3 to 18 years. The school operates under the Borgen 2 foundation and offers education based on British, Swedish, and international curricula.

With approximately 550 motivated and multilingual students, BISS maintains small class sizes, with no more than 24 students per class. Job Description:
Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Assessment: Teach and assess students according to the Swedish curriculum for Swedish and Swedish as a second language in grades 4-6.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with other Swedish teachers to develop the Swedish language curriculum.
  • Student Engagement: Inspire and motivate students to develop their reading and writing skills.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in education and Swedish language teaching.
  • Parental Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents about student progress and address any concerns.

 

Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Qualified teacher status with a specialization in Swedish and Swedish as a second language.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience in primary education. Experience in an international school setting is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of the Swedish curriculum.
    • Excellent classroom management skills.
    • Ability to engage and motivate young learners.
    • Strong organizational and planning skills.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Languages: Fluency in Swedish and good knowledge of English is essential.
  • Desirable: Experience in a leadership role within education, such as head teacher or similar.
