Elementary Teachers Aide, Whitman Academy, Jordan

This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for an Elementary Teachers Aide.

Job Summary:

Whitman Academy in Jordan is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Teacher’s Aide to support classroom teachers in providing high-quality education. The Teacher’s Aide will assist in academic instruction, manage classroom resources, and help create a positive learning environment. This role requires a mature Christian with strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications:

• Mature Christian with a clear testimony
• 1-2 years of experience in an educational setting preferred
• High school diploma required
• Associate’s degree (or higher) in Education-related field preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Compassionate and positive attitude
• Outstanding interpersonal skills
• Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities:

• Assist the classroom teacher in academic instruction and presentation of instructional materials, working with individual and small groups of students
• Work with classroom teachers in advance of each lesson to understand learning outcomes for the class period
• Carry out instructional plans as designated by the classroom teachers and student Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) where needed
• Perform a variety of clerical duties using basic office equipment (computer, photocopier/printer, laminator, etc.)
• Assist the teacher to maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment by organizing and managing physical teaching space and resources
• Assist classroom teachers in grading assignments
• Serve as a substitute teacher when necessary
• Perform any assigned duties outside of the classroom, including recess, field trip chaperoning, supervision during emergency drills and procedures, etc.
• Use effective behavior management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures
