Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
● Apply evidence-based instructional strategies into daily lessons, including the exploration of equity, diversity, inclusion, social-justice and social-emotional learning.
● Prioritize student growth through guided inquiry and agency.
● Link learning to meaningful, real-world experiences, utilizing student interests.
● Integrate transdisciplinary learning where applicable.
● Embed Approaches to Learning and the International Baccalaureate Learner Profiles.
● Design engagements for independent, cooperative, and personalized learning.
● Embrace the diversity of ASB, Mumbai, and India, moving beyond the classroom walls and encouraging students to maximize their impact on the community.
● Leverage technology to enhance learning engagements and resonate with the digital-native generation.
● Utilize resources for support and follow ASB’s structures for MTSS.
● Maintain confidentiality with honesty and ethical integrity.
Collaboration and Professional Responsibilities
● Collaborate with grade teams, specialists, and counselors, capitalizing on colleagues’ strengths.
● Enhance transdisciplinary connections with the STEM, iCommons, and tech integration teams.
● Contribute to discussions based on data in order to focus on and elevate individual students.
● Actively participate in planning, grade level, and divisional meetings.
● Emphasize coaching as a key aspect of ASB’s professional culture.
● Oversee students during break, lunch, and other transitions.
Planning and Preparation:
● Document all units in ATLAS Rubicon.
● Utilize Google Team Drives to hold collaborative plans and resources.
● Use the ePYP Unit Planner Template for Literacy, Math, and UoI planning. Learning Environments:
● Align practices with Responsive Classroom and PYP approaches.
● Design classroom spaces to cater to diverse preferences, needs, and strengths.
● Showcase current units, learning progress, and profiles and balance product and process displays.
● Post and follow Behavior Management Levels. Assessment, Reporting, and Communicating:
● Follow the ES Curriculum Timeline, including Universal Screening and Assessments.
● Infuse reflection in academic and social experiences, fostering goal setting.
● Implement Elementary ASB Portfolio Common Agreements.
● Report growth transparently with strengths and areas for improvement.
● Conduct Parent-Teacher Conferences and Report Cards as scheduled.
● Facilitate transition with assessment sharing and data inclusion.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
● A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program and teaching certification.
● A minimum of three years of relevant teaching experience in a K-12 accredited school.
● Experience with the inquiry framework and or the Primary Years Program.
● Knowledge of developmental needs of learners in upper elementary grades and developmentally appropriate practice.
