This school is based in Marondera, Zimbabwe and is looking for an Advert Class Teacher.

Peterhouse School is dedicated to the education and personal development of children and young people with autistic spectrum conditions. We work closely with families, commissioners, and others to provide a nurturing environment that fosters growth and learning. Main Responsibilities:
  • Promote and endorse the school’s mission statement, aims, and ethos, with a sound knowledge of autism informing practice.
  • Plan and teach well-structured lessons, assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning needs and progress of assigned pupils.
  • Adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils, setting high expectations and promoting good progress and outcomes.
  • Work with other professionals to overcome barriers to learning and engagement.
  • Provide pastoral support and assist pupils with personal care tasks as needed.

 

Whole-School Organization, Strategy, and Development:
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of school policies, practices, and procedures to support the school’s vision and values.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school, working with others on curriculum and pupil development.

 

Health, Safety, and Discipline:
  • Promote the safety and well-being of pupils, maintain a safe learning environment, and manage behavior effectively.
  • Adhere to the school’s policies and guidelines regarding safeguarding, health, safety, and positive behavior support.

 

Professional Development:
  • Participate in the school’s appraisal procedures and further training and development to improve teaching.
  • Take part in the appraisal and professional development of others where appropriate.

 

Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, colleagues, and relevant professionals, adapting to the needs of pupils and building positive relationships.

 

Personal and Professional Conduct:
  • Uphold public trust in the profession, maintain high standards of ethics and behavior, and act within statutory frameworks.
  • Maintain confidentiality and treat everyone within the organization with dignity and respect.

 

Management of Staff and Resources:
  • Direct and supervise support staff, deploy resources, and work collaboratively with colleagues.

 

Safeguarding:
  • Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance and school policies, promoting the best interests of pupils and sharing concerns where necessary.
