Role Overview: PYP Art Teacher
As a PYP Art Teacher, you will deliver dynamic and engaging visual arts instruction in alignment with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). Your role will focus on nurturing students’ creativity, self-expression, and understanding of art across cultures and mediums.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement inquiry-based art lessons aligned with the PYP framework
- Foster artistic exploration using a variety of materials and techniques
- Integrate visual arts into transdisciplinary learning units
- Support individual creativity while maintaining high academic standards
- Organize student exhibitions and contribute to school-wide art events
- Collaborate with other teachers to plan interdisciplinary projects
- Maintain regular communication with parents and the school community
- Create a safe, respectful, and stimulating learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Visual Arts, Art Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years of experience in a similar teaching role
- Familiarity with the IB PYP or other international education frameworks
- Excellent classroom management and instructional skills
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Proactive, team-oriented mindset and a strong commitment to professional growth
- Comfort with integrating digital tools into art instruction
