Role Overview

The PYP Art Teacher will design and deliver engaging art lessons for students in Kindergarten through Grade 5. The teacher will encourage students to explore creativity, experiment with diverse art forms, and connect visual expression with cultural understanding. This role requires someone who values inquiry-based learning, collaboration, and innovation in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver dynamic art lessons aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework
• Foster creativity, self-expression, and cultural awareness through visual arts
• Use a range of media, materials, and techniques to engage young learners
• Integrate art into interdisciplinary projects across the curriculum
• Assess and document student progress, providing constructive feedback
• Create a positive, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the PYP curriculum

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum of three years’ teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB school
• Strong knowledge of art education and PYP curriculum design
• Effective classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for teaching in a multicultural and diverse school community
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and innovation in art education
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
