Role Overview: PYP English Teacher
As a PYP English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate English language instruction to primary school students. You will play an integral role in building students’ language fluency, reading comprehension, writing skills, and confidence in communication—all within the context of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach English language lessons aligned with the IB PYP
- Encourage inquiry-based learning and literacy development
- Support students in achieving personal and academic growth
- Work collaboratively with homeroom and subject teachers
- Participate in school events, team meetings, and ongoing professional learning
- Communicate effectively with parents and the wider school community
- Integrate educational technology to enhance teaching and learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, ideally in a primary setting
- Familiarity with the IB Primary Years Programme or similar international curricula
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Excellent written and spoken English communication
- Initiative and a collaborative approach to curriculum development
- Comfort with using digital tools to support literacy and language instruction
