Role Overview: PYP English Teacher
As a PYP English Teacher, you will teach literacy and language within the framework of the IB Primary Years Programme. You will promote critical thinking, creativity, and international-mindedness while helping students develop strong communication skills and a love for reading and writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, student-centered English lessons aligned with IB PYP principles
- Plan and implement transdisciplinary units of inquiry
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor and support student progress
- Build a positive and inclusive classroom culture
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning
- Communicate effectively with parents and participate in school events
- Integrate technology to support literacy instruction and student engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience, ideally in an IB or international school
- In-depth knowledge of IB PYP pedagogy and curriculum standards
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Self-motivated, reflective, and committed to ongoing professional development
