Founded in 2012, CISK began as an Ontario-curriculum school and has grown into a fully authorized IB Continuum School, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP). Role Overview: PYP Homeroom Teacher
As a PYP Homeroom Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework. You will guide students in developing strong academic foundations while nurturing essential attributes such as curiosity, independence, and empathy.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement transdisciplinary learning experiences that support student inquiry
- Assess student progress using formative and summative assessment tools
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
- Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning outcomes
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and parents to support each student’s development
- Contribute to school-wide events and professional learning initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a relevant field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, ideally in a PYP or international setting
- Familiarity with IB PYP philosophy and practices
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong classroom management and planning abilities
- Commitment to continuous professional development
