Role Overview: PYP Mathematics Teacher
The PYP Mathematics Teacher will teach mathematics to primary students using an inquiry-based approach. You will help students develop a strong foundation in numeracy, mathematical thinking, and real-world problem solving, all while fostering curiosity and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, inquiry-driven math lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework
- Plan transdisciplinary units that integrate mathematics across subjects
- Differentiate instruction to meet a range of learning needs and styles
- Use formative and summative assessments to inform instruction and track progress
- Collaborate with grade-level and specialist teams to design meaningful learning experiences
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Integrate digital tools to enhance student understanding and engagement
- Contribute to school initiatives, events, and community-building activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of primary school teaching experience
- Experience with or training in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- A collaborative and proactive approach to teaching and curriculum development
