Located in Changchun, China, CAIS is the first and only licensed international school in Jilin Province. Role Overview: PYP Music Teacher
The PYP Music Teacher will deliver engaging music lessons that foster creativity, rhythm, and performance skills in young learners. You will collaborate with classroom and specialist teachers to integrate music into the broader PYP curriculum and encourage students to express themselves musically and artistically.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach developmentally appropriate music lessons for PYP students
- Support student learning through singing, instruments, rhythm, and movement
- Organize school concerts, assemblies, and performances
- Collaborate on cross-curricular projects that include musical elements
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Participate actively in school events and professional learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field
- Valid teaching license or recognized teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, B.Ed.)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience
- Familiarity with the IB PYP and inquiry-based learning approaches
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Strong command of spoken and written English
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to student-centered learning
- Competent with technology integration in the classroom
