About Changchun American International School (CAIS)
Located in Changchun, China, CAIS is the first and only licensed international school in Jilin Province. The school serves students aged 2 to 19 from Nursery through Grade 12. CAIS holds full accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and offers all three IB programmes: PYP, MYP, and DP.

Role Overview: PYP Performing Arts/Drama Teacher
As the PYP Performing Arts/Drama Teacher, you will deliver engaging and collaborative lessons that support students’ artistic growth and communication skills. You will design creative units that integrate music, drama, and performance, while aligning with the IB PYP framework and transdisciplinary themes.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate drama and performing arts lessons
- Inspire students through hands-on projects, performances, and class productions
- Collaborate with classroom and specialist teachers to support transdisciplinary learning
- Organize school performances, assemblies, and arts events
- Provide meaningful feedback to students to guide growth and creativity
- Engage in ongoing professional development and school community initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Performing Arts, Drama, Music, or Education
- Valid teaching credential (e.g., PGCE, QTS, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, ideally in an IB or international setting
- Strong understanding of the IB PYP framework and inquiry-based instruction
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centered education
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Technologically proficient and innovative in instructional practices
