Role Overview: PYP Performing Arts Teacher
As the PYP Performing Arts Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging music, drama, and movement lessons for primary years students. You will inspire creativity and self-expression while supporting student growth through performance, collaboration, and reflection. You will also play a key role in school events and interdisciplinary projects involving the arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement performing arts lessons aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
- Foster an inclusive and expressive classroom culture through music, movement, and drama
- Prepare students for school-wide performances, assemblies, and productions
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate arts across the curriculum
- Build strong relationships with students and parents through clear communication and support
- Participate actively in professional development and contribute to school-wide initiatives
- Use digital tools and media to enhance artistic expression and learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Performing Arts, Music Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a performing arts teaching role
- Experience with the IB PYP or other international curricula preferred
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Passion for international education and a collaborative teaching culture
- Confidence using technology to enrich student learning
