Role Overview
The PYP Performing Arts Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons in music, drama, and other performing arts disciplines for primary students. The successful candidate will nurture creativity, confidence, and self-expression, while ensuring alignment with the IB Primary Years Programme framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Performing Arts across the PYP grade levels
- Develop and deliver inquiry-based, creative lesson plans
- Encourage artistic expression through music, drama, and performance
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Organize and lead student performances, concerts, and showcases
- Integrate technology and innovative methods into teaching
- Provide constructive feedback to support student growth
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum and school-wide initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Performing Arts, Music, Drama, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in international schools
- Familiarity with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Enthusiasm for fostering creativity in a diverse, international school setting
- Commitment to professional growth and collaboration
