Role Overview: Science Teacher
As a Science Teacher at SSIS, you will deliver engaging and rigorous lessons that align with the Singapore-UK curriculum. You will foster curiosity and critical thinking among students, helping them build a solid foundation in scientific concepts and skills. You will monitor student progress through regular assessments and adjust your teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs. Collaboration with fellow teachers and clear communication with parents will support student success and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons across appropriate grade levels
- Encourage scientific inquiry and experimentation to deepen student understanding
- Maintain effective classroom management and promote a positive learning environment
- Use data and assessments to track student progress and guide instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and school initiatives
- Communicate regularly with parents and the school community to support student learning
- Integrate technology and digital tools to improve engagement and educational outcomes
- Participate actively in professional development and school-wide activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or license such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent international qualification
- Minimum two years of teaching experience in science or a related role
- Strong knowledge of science subjects and experience with international curricula preferred
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written English
- Self-driven, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional growth
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues in a multicultural environment
