This school is based in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, Antigua and is looking for Secondary School Science Teachers.

The International School of Saint Lucia in Antigua is seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary School Science Teacher to join our dedicated team. As part of our secondary education department, you will have the opportunity to inspire and educate students in various scientific disciplines, fostering a love for learning and exploration.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive science lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
  • Subject Expertise: Teach a range of scientific subjects, including biology, chemistry, physics, and environmental science, to students in grades 7-12.
  • Lab Work: Conduct practical experiments and laboratory activities to enhance students’ understanding of scientific concepts and principles.
  • Assessment: Assess student progress through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and lab reports, providing constructive feedback to support their learning.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with varying abilities and learning styles.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, where students feel safe, supported, and engaged.
  • Extracurricular Involvement: Participate in extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, science fairs, and field trips, to enrich students’ educational experiences.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on current trends and developments in science education, participating in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.
  • Parental Communication: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and any concerns that may arise.

 

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in secondary science education.
  • Certification: Teaching certification/license preferred.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required.
  • Skills: Strong classroom management skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in using instructional technology.
