This school is based in Madrid, Spain and is looking for a Female Residence Educator with Psychology Background.

Cultivate a welcoming and stimulating environment where students can grow, learn, and develop fully while promoting values of collaboration, respect, and diversity.

Functions:
1. Mentoring:
  • Monitor students’ work time, assessing their individual effort.
  • Inform families about the student’s work in the residence, as well as their behavior and level of coexistence.
  • Advise on, and in some cases determine, the distribution of work and leisure time for weekends.
  • Conduct occasional or periodic meetings with the tutors of resident students.
  • Instill good habits and behaviors in students, and correct inappropriate behaviors when necessary.
  • Manage the personal schedules of students for various activities and studies.
  • Be familiar with the medical reports of students.
  • Hold personal interviews or phone calls with families upon request, adhering to established schedules.

 

2. Academic and Cultural:
  • Assist in resolving any doubts that students may have during their directed study time.
  • Provide curricular and complementary activities that contribute to the holistic development of the students.
  • Guide and inform students about significant cultural and current events relevant to their interests.
  • Help students attend sporting and cultural events outside of school by organizing and, if necessary, accompanying them using public or school transportation to facilitate their participation.

 

3. Accompaniment and Guardianship:
  • Perform assigned duties in the residence, recreational areas, and dining room according to the established schedule for each academic year.
  • Be responsible for maintaining order and overseeing the operation of the residence during night shifts.

 

4. Administration:
  • Monitor and update the status of each student’s residence fund accounts, following the instructions provided by families (Wednesday nights).
  • Distribute the weekly allowance to students (Thursday nights).
  • Ensure that vouchers needed for various payments throughout the academic year (such as excursions, parties, materials, trips, pharmacy, and telephone) are completed accurately and submitted promptly, particularly for the months of May, June, and during the summer course, as well as for specific and extraordinary situations of each academic year.
  • Coordinate and oversee the use of laundry services, including clothes delivery (Monday and Wednesday evenings) and collection from students.
  • Take care of elementary medical emergencies.
  • Monitor all student absences from the residence, as well as their departure and return arrangements during the week and on weekends.
  • Report maintenance needs, damages, furniture issues, etc., promptly through daily reports (designated day: Monday, and whenever a specific issue is observed).
  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure the order and cleanliness of rooms and closets, as well as the cleanliness and appropriate attire of students during the week and on weekends.

 

5. Teamworking:
  • Collaborate with fellow residents and school faculty members.
  • Attend meetings, professional development sessions, and other school and institutional events.
  • Demonstrate readiness to engage, cooperate, and potentially take a leadership role in various school initiatives aimed at fostering school culture, student leadership, and the promotion of school values. This may involve organizing projects, coordinating field trips, and facilitating events to effectively address the personal, social (wellness), and academic needs of students and staff.

 

Requirements:
  • College degree. Science profile.
  • Experience in international contexts.
  • Experience in a similar position.
  • Previous experience working with young people.
  • C1 level English.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish.
