Overview:

Indian Central School, Kuwait, is looking for a dedicated and innovative Science Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will align with the school’s mission, vision, and values, focusing on achieving exceptional educational outcomes. This role involves teaching a diverse group of students, fostering a culture of high expectations in teaching, learning, and assessment, and engaging actively with the school community.

Responsibilities:
Academic:
  1. Teaching Responsibilities:
    • Teach up to 30 students with varied strengths and weaknesses in a self-contained classroom.
    • Understand individual learning styles and plan creative teaching and learning activities using the modified CBSE curriculum and supporting resources.
  2. Planning and Documentation:
    • Submit weekly lesson plans on MS Teams every Wednesday.
    • Provide long-term plans to the Academic Coordinator/Principal/Vice-Principal by the end of March each year.
    • Create and implement relevant assessments based on the quarterly assessment calendar.
  3. Student Records:
    • Maintain student profiles, progress records, and report card copies.
    • Prepare and conduct assessments aligned with the curriculum.
  4. Use of Technology:
    • Take daily attendance using the attendance module.
    • Record student behavior issues in the behavior module for tracking purposes.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Maintain professional competence through in-service professional development activities provided by the school.
  6. Classroom Management:
    • Ensure effective classroom management and seek support from the social worker when necessary.
    • Adhere to the school’s policy against corporal punishment and abuse.
  7. Meeting Attendance:
    • Attend monthly staff meetings, grade team meetings, curriculum review meetings, quarterly PTM meetings, and any other scheduled meetings.
  8. Classroom Environment:
    • Maintain high standards of classroom and corridor displays reflecting student work.
  9. Afterschool Intervention Program:
    • Plan and conduct remedial support for weak students through the mandatory afterschool intervention program.
  10. Field Trips:
  • Plan and implement curriculum-linked field trips, submitting plans to the Principal’s secretary two weeks prior to the date.
  1. School Participation:
  • Participate in at least one committee, all parent engagement activities, weekly school assemblies, and school events.
  • Support colleagues during short leaves of absence.
  1. Communication:
  • Read and comply with daily morning memos from the principal.
  • Use “TRACK MY SCHOOL” to communicate with parents, including writing in student communication books.
  • Collaborate with the social worker to monitor the progress of students identified as ‘Students at risk’ or ‘Students of academic concern’.

 

Extra-Curricular Activities:
  1. Afterschool Activities:
    • Participate in one mandatory afterschool extracurricular activity to develop the afterschool program and school teams for competitive events.
    • Attend scheduled meetings for extracurricular activities.

 

Department Goals:
  1. Foster a positive relationship and attitude among all staff, management, school owners, and the community.
  2. Implement daily lesson plans effectively.
  3. Meet the curriculum and developmental goals outlined for the year.

 

Individual Goals:
  1. Act as ambassadors in promoting the school.
  2. Read, understand, and comply with the school’s policies and procedures.
  3. Implement weekly, unit, and long-range plans effectively in the classroom.
  4. Maintain high standards of classroom discipline, student manners, and behavior both inside and outside the classroom.
  5. Comply with all work expectations as laid out in the staff handbook.

 

Reports:
  1. Submit daily lesson plans every Wednesday on Curriculum Trak.
  2. Provide Year at a Glance/Long Range plans for the next academic year by the end of March.
  3. Prepare progress reports and report cards as per the schedule.

 

Requirements:
  • Updated CV
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science (BSc)
  • Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching experience
