KS3 Science Teacher, Thames British School, Spain

This school is based in Madrid, Spain and is looking for a KS3 Science Teacher. 

Job Overview:
Thames British School is seeking a dedicated and experienced KS3 Science Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background in Science, with a British teaching qualification and experience in teaching KS3 and KS4 students. You will be expected to inspire and motivate students while ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach KS3 Science following the English National Curriculum, with potential involvement in KS4 classes.
• Prepare and deliver engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and critical thinking in students.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support individual development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum and participate in cross-curricular projects.
• Contribute to the pastoral care and development of students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behavior.
• Uphold school policies, including those related to safeguarding and student welfare.
• Participate in school events, staff meetings, and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science.
• British teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, or SCITT) or equivalent.
• C2 level of English proficiency or IELTS score of 8.5.
• Experience with the English National Curriculum, Cambridge Curriculum, IGCSE, A Levels, and IBDP.
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 students.
• Knowledge of best pedagogical practices and a proven track record of outstanding teaching.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
• Two supporting references and a police clearance certificate or DBS no older than 3 months.
