Role Overview: Secondary Art & Design Teacher

As a Secondary Art & Design Teacher, you will teach visual arts to lower and upper secondary students, with instruction based on the IGCSE Art & Design curriculum. Your lessons will encourage students to explore different media, techniques, and artistic styles while developing their own creative expression. You will also help students build portfolios, prepare for school exhibitions, and engage in creative thinking projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Art & Design classes in alignment with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus
• Design engaging lessons that integrate various artistic techniques and digital tools
• Support students in developing their personal styles and creative portfolios
• Assess student artwork and provide constructive feedback to guide improvement
• Organize and contribute to school-wide art exhibitions and events
• Collaborate with fellow educators on interdisciplinary learning opportunities
• Maintain a safe, inspiring, and inclusive art classroom environment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art, Fine Arts, Design, or a related field
• Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably with the Cambridge IGCSE framework
• Proficiency in both traditional and digital art techniques
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Strong classroom management and organizational abilities
• Passion for working in a Christian, multicultural school setting
• Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching
