Role Overview: Secondary Art Teacher
As a Secondary Art Teacher, you will deliver a broad and engaging art curriculum to students across various grade levels. You will encourage creativity, build technical skills, and guide students in developing their unique artistic voices. Your role will also involve preparing students for international art examinations and portfolio development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach visual arts following international and bilingual curriculum standards
- Plan and implement hands-on, project-based lessons across a range of artistic media
- Encourage creative thinking and self-expression in the classroom
- Guide students in preparing for IGCSE and A-Level Art assessments
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and stimulating studio environment
- Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary initiatives and school-wide events
- Contribute to exhibitions, art showcases, and extracurricular arts activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art, Fine Arts, or a related discipline
- Valid teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level
- Strong foundation in visual arts, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media
- Experience with international curricula such as IGCSE or A-Level preferred
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural international school setting
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Ability to incorporate technology into creative instruction
