Role Overview: Secondary Art Teacher
As a Secondary Art Teacher at MISA, you will lead engaging art lessons that promote creativity, self-expression, and artistic skill development. You will guide students through various media and techniques while aligning your instruction with international curriculum standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach visual arts to middle and high school students using Cambridge or IB frameworks
- Design age-appropriate projects in drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art
- Encourage critical thinking and cultural appreciation through the arts
- Create a safe, respectful, and stimulating classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects
- Participate in school events, exhibitions, and arts-related initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Recognized teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in secondary education
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Experience with international curricula (Cambridge or IB) preferred
- Self-driven, creative, and passionate about teaching art
