Role Overview: Secondary Biology Teacher
The Secondary Biology Teacher will deliver engaging and rigorous science instruction at Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and A-Level. This role suits educators who value inquiry-based learning and want to help students build a deep understanding of biological principles through experimentation, analysis, and real-world application.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Biology to students at lower and upper secondary levels within the Cambridge curriculum
- Plan and deliver dynamic lessons that promote scientific inquiry and critical thinking
- Develop lab-based activities and use scientific equipment safely and effectively
- Evaluate student progress using a range of assessments
- Support students in science-related extracurriculars, projects, or competitions
- Collaborate with science department colleagues to enhance curriculum and resources
- Communicate clearly with students and parents about academic development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or international equivalent)
- Minimum two years of experience teaching Biology at the secondary level
- Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curriculum preferred
- Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Comfortable using technology to enhance learning
- Motivated, collaborative, and committed to international education best practices
