Role Overview: Secondary Biology Teacher (IGCSE/A-Level)
As a Biology teacher, you will deliver engaging and inquiry-based instruction aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level standards. You will encourage students to think scientifically, conduct experiments, and explore real-world biological applications. In addition to your classroom responsibilities, you will contribute to curriculum development, academic advising, and extracurricular programs such as science fairs or environmental clubs.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IGCSE and A-Level Biology to secondary students
- Design interactive lessons that promote scientific inquiry and lab-based learning
- Track and assess student progress using varied formative and summative methods
- Collaborate with department staff on lesson planning and interdisciplinary units
- Participate in student-led projects, science clubs, and academic events
- Foster strong, positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or a closely related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of relevant teaching experience
- Experience with Cambridge IGCSE or A-Level curriculum preferred
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
- Strong proficiency in spoken and written English
