Role Overview: Secondary Biology Teacher
As a Secondary Biology Teacher, you will teach middle and high school students, delivering high-quality lessons that align with international science standards. You will encourage students to think analytically, explore biological concepts deeply, and develop a lifelong love for scientific inquiry.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging biology lessons based on international curricula
- Create hands-on lab experiences and encourage experimentation and analysis
- Assess student learning through varied formative and summative assessments
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and needs
- Collaborate with science department colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning
- Participate in school events, field trips, and extracurricular science initiatives
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and classroom goals
- Engage in ongoing professional development and curriculum review
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or recognized certification (QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of biology teaching experience at the secondary level
- Experience with international curricula (IB, IGCSE, AP, etc.) preferred
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Native-level or highly proficient English speaker
- Comfortable using educational technology to support student learning
- Self-driven, collaborative, and committed to academic excellence
