Role Overview: Secondary Biology Teacher (IGCSE)
As a Secondary Biology Teacher, you will teach students in lower and upper secondary classes using the Cambridge IGCSE Biology framework. Your role includes designing and delivering engaging, student-centered lessons that encourage critical thinking and scientific inquiry.
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach Biology lessons that align with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus
- Facilitate hands-on experiments and lab-based learning
- Use a range of teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly
- Encourage a love for science through interactive projects and activities
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives
- Participate in school-wide events, enrichment programs, and science-related competitions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology or a closely related field
- Valid teaching license or equivalent certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS)
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience, ideally in an international or IGCSE setting
- Strong command of subject knowledge and effective classroom management
- Excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity
- Ability to incorporate digital tools and resources into science instruction
- Passion for student development and continuous professional growth
