Role Overview: Secondary Biology Teacher
As a Secondary Biology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and effective lessons that foster curiosity, scientific reasoning, and critical thinking. You will teach students from diverse backgrounds and support their development in both theoretical and practical aspects of biology, aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE Biology curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality biology lessons for secondary-level students
- Design assessments that track student progress and improve learning outcomes
- Use lab-based instruction and real-world examples to enhance student understanding
- Promote inquiry-based learning and scientific research skills
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-disciplinary initiatives
- Support science-related extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related discipline
- Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in teaching biology at the secondary level
- Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE framework
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
- Proactive, self-motivated, and committed to professional development
- Capable of integrating technology to support learning
