Role Overview: Secondary Chemistry Teacher
The Secondary Chemistry Teacher will teach students at the Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and A-Level levels. The successful candidate will deliver dynamic, hands-on lessons that promote inquiry-based learning, scientific analysis, and real-world application of chemical concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Chemistry instruction that aligns with the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curriculum
- Design engaging lab activities and ensure safe, effective use of laboratory equipment
- Evaluate student learning through formative and summative assessments
- Promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent research
- Contribute to school-wide STEM initiatives and science-related extracurricular programs
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and curriculum enhancement
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and the wider school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least two years of experience teaching Chemistry at the secondary level
- Experience with the Cambridge curriculum preferred
- Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Passion for international education and global citizenship
- Ability to integrate technology into science teaching effectively
