Role Overview: Secondary Chemistry Teacher
As the Secondary Chemistry Teacher, you will deliver engaging science lessons aligned with international curricula. You will guide students through complex scientific concepts while promoting curiosity, inquiry, and critical thinking. Your role will include practical laboratory instruction, curriculum planning, and contributing to the development of school-wide science initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach secondary-level Chemistry to a diverse student body
- Design lessons that integrate theory, practical experimentation, and inquiry-based learning
- Maintain a well-managed and safe laboratory environment
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback
- Support interdisciplinary projects and cross-curricular learning opportunities
- Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the school’s science program
- Participate actively in school events and community engagement activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field
- Valid teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting
- Familiarity with international curricula (e.g., Cambridge, IGCSE, or IB)
- Excellent classroom management and instructional skills
- High proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Enthusiasm for working in a diverse international community
- Self-driven, creative, and committed to professional development
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Comfort with educational technology and digital tools in the classroom
