Role Overview: Secondary Chemistry Teacher
As a Secondary Chemistry Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging science lessons aligned with the British curriculum, including IGCSE and A-Level standards. You will play a key role in helping students develop scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and practical lab skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach Chemistry lessons to students across key secondary levels
- Prepare students for international exams such as IGCSE and A-Level
- Use hands-on lab activities to enhance conceptual understanding
- Collaborate with the Science Department to maintain high academic standards
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback
- Support extracurricular science activities and competitions
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching secondary Chemistry
- Familiarity with international curricula (IGCSE, A-Level preferred)
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- High level of English proficiency (spoken and written)
- Proactive, self-driven, and passionate about student learning
- Tech-savvy with a willingness to integrate digital tools in teaching
