Role Overview: Secondary Chemistry Teacher (Cambridge IGCSE – A-Level)
The ideal candidate will bring strong subject expertise and a student-centered approach to teaching chemistry. As a Secondary Chemistry Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level syllabus. You will support students in mastering both theoretical and practical aspects of chemistry through active learning strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Chemistry at IGCSE and A-Level levels using the Cambridge curriculum
- Plan and deliver lessons that foster scientific inquiry and conceptual understanding
- Conduct practical lab sessions to reinforce theoretical content
- Use assessments and feedback to support student learning and track progress
- Collaborate with science department colleagues on curriculum planning and enrichment
- Communicate regularly with students and parents to support academic growth
- Participate in school events, professional development, and community activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, preferably in a Cambridge curriculum school
- Strong content knowledge and enthusiasm for chemistry education
- Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Effective classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, reflective, and collaborative teaching style
- Experience using technology to enhance science instruction
