Role Overview: Secondary Computer Science Teacher (IGCSE)

In this role, you will teach Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science, equipping students with the skills needed to understand computer systems, programming logic, data structures, and problem-solving techniques. You will create interactive, student-centered lessons that develop both technical proficiency and computational thinking.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science curriculum
• Use real-world applications and project-based learning to deepen students’ understanding
• Guide students through programming concepts using Python, Java, or similar languages
• Incorporate coding tools, simulations, and collaborative activities to enhance learning
• Assess student progress through formative and summative methods
• Support student participation in technology clubs, competitions, or showcases
• Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and ICT integration initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline
• Teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in secondary computer science, ideally in an IGCSE or international curriculum
• Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly taught at IGCSE level
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Strong commitment to inclusive education and holistic student development
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
• Skilled in integrating technology to support learning outcomes
