Role Summary: Secondary Economics Teacher
As a Secondary Economics Teacher, you will teach students at the upper secondary level, preparing them for IGCSE and A Level Economics examinations. You will foster critical thinking and analytical skills while helping students understand economic systems, market behavior, and global financial trends. Teachers at SGIA actively contribute to curriculum development and work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Education, or a related field
- Recognized teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Economics or a similar subject
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum (IGCSE and/or A Level preferred)
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills
- Strong written and spoken English proficiency
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching to enhance student learning
- Commitment to professional growth and collaborative school culture
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
