Role Overview: Secondary Economics Teacher
As a Secondary Economics Teacher, you will teach the Cambridge IGCSE Economics curriculum. You will guide students through core economic concepts, current global issues, and analytical thinking processes. Your role will involve delivering interactive lessons, facilitating debates, and encouraging critical inquiry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Economics to secondary-level students
- Design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum
- Develop assessments that monitor student understanding and academic progress
- Incorporate real-world case studies to enrich the learning experience
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments on interdisciplinary projects
- Participate in school-wide academic events and student enrichment activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics or a related discipline
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience, preferably within an international or Cambridge school
- Expertise in IGCSE Economics content and pedagogy
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Proactive, organized, and committed to professional development
- Ability to leverage educational technologies to enhance student engagement
