Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and high-quality English instruction to students across Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and A-Level. You will foster a love for reading, writing, and language while encouraging students to explore literature from diverse cultures and historical periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English language and literature at secondary levels
- Design and implement lesson plans aligned with the Cambridge or equivalent curriculum
- Support student development in reading comprehension, analytical writing, and oral communication
- Prepare students for IGCSE and A-Level assessments
- Encourage student engagement through interactive learning techniques
- Collaborate with faculty to enhance cross-curricular learning
- Contribute to school-wide events, literacy initiatives, and co-curricular activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience
- Familiarity with international education frameworks such as the Cambridge curriculum
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Enthusiastic about working in a multicultural, international school community
- Competent in using technology to enhance learning outcomes
