Located in Batam, Indonesia, Sekolah Global Indo-Asia (SGIA) has delivered internationally recognized education since its founding in 1998. SGIA offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the IB Diploma Programme (DP), alongside being an authorized Cambridge International Examinations center. Our academic programs serve students from Pre-School through Grade 12.

Position Overview: Secondary English Teacher
The successful candidate will teach secondary-level English, with a focus on IGCSE and potentially A Level English. You will guide students in developing critical thinking, analytical writing, and communication skills. Teachers at SGIA collaborate across departments and contribute to ongoing curriculum development and extracurricular programs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Native English speaker with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching English at the secondary level
- IGCSE and/or A Level English experience strongly preferred
- Proven classroom management and student engagement strategies
- Technologically competent and comfortable integrating edtech in the classroom
- Independent, proactive, and team-oriented with a growth mindset
- Experience in international or multicultural school settings is an asset
