Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will teach English Language and Literature to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, guiding them through the academic standards of the British curriculum. Your instruction will empower students to analyze literature, write effectively, and express ideas confidently through spoken and written English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature that meet curriculum standards
- Foster reading comprehension, critical analysis, and writing development
- Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments
- Create a supportive classroom culture that encourages independent learning
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary instruction
- Maintain strong communication with students and parents
- Support extracurricular activities, literacy events, or school-wide projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related subject
- Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level, preferably in the British curriculum
- Excellent written and spoken English proficiency
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- Passion for education in a multicultural international school setting
- Ability to integrate technology to enrich learning
