Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will teach English Language and Literature to students in the lower and upper secondary levels. You will design lessons that challenge students to read critically, write effectively, and express ideas with clarity and confidence. Your teaching will reflect the standards of the IGCSE and A-Level curriculum while incorporating modern, student-centered methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach English Language and Literature to secondary-level students
Create engaging lesson plans aligned with the IGCSE and A-Level standards
Foster strong reading, writing, and analytical skills in students
Provide constructive feedback through formative and summative assessments
Encourage student participation in English-related clubs, contests, and enrichment activities
Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to support student growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Recognized teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching English at the secondary level
- Familiarity with IGCSE and/or A-Level curricula preferred
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Proficient in both spoken and written English
- Motivated, innovative, and collaborative mindset
- Passion for working in a culturally diverse international school environment
- Strong technology integration skills for modern classrooms
