Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will teach English Language and Literature to Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and potentially A-Level students. You will help students think critically, communicate effectively, and develop a lifelong love for reading and writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons aligned with the British curriculum
- Inspire students through literature, creative writing, and analytical reading
- Assess student progress regularly and provide timely feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance departmental goals and curriculum design
- Contribute to extracurricular programs and whole-school events
- Communicate with parents about student learning and development
- Participate in ongoing professional learning and school improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Recognized teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant teaching experience
- Solid understanding of the British curriculum and international school environments
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Passionate, independent, and proactive in shaping the curriculum and learning experience
