Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher
The Secondary English Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that build literacy, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills. You will teach students aged 11–16 following the Cambridge IGCSE English curriculum. Your role will involve fostering a love of reading and writing while preparing students for academic success and real-world communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver English lessons aligned with Cambridge IGCSE standards
- Guide students in reading comprehension, writing, literature analysis, and verbal expression
- Create assessments to monitor student progress and adapt instruction accordingly
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and active class participation
- Collaborate with other faculty members on interdisciplinary learning initiatives
- Support extracurricular activities, school events, and English-based clubs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Recognized teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience teaching English at the secondary level
- Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum is highly preferred
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Passionate, self-driven, and committed to continuous professional development
- Able to integrate digital tools into teaching practices effectively
